Necks. Flatsawn or Quartersawn?

What is the consensus on this, especially for neck billet of wood softer than mahogany?

Yeah, quartersawn for a 1 piece neck. If you make a 2 piece neck (any multiple section neck), then you can use flat sawn with good results.
